They might be sitting as the opposition parties in the state but at the Thane Guardian Minister Ganesh Naik-presided District Planning Committee meetings, opposition MLAs of Shiv Sena, BJP and MNS came out in full support of Thane Guardian Minister Ganesh Naik. They condemned the attitude of officials and bureaucrats who are not following the orders that Thane Guardian Minister Ganesh Naik gives in these meetings of the Thane District Planning Committee. Shiv Sena MLA Eknath Shinde raised the issue and said that 6 months ago, in the meeting of the committee, Guardian Minister Ganesh Naik had ordered PWD and MSRDC officials to install “Electronic Countdown Display Machine” at 14 toll nakas of Thane district. With the aim of bringing transparency, the decision was taken that these machines would display the money spent on building each bridge attached to the toll naka, the total toll charges collected so far, the number of cars that use the toll naka everyday and what is the amount pending to be collected at the toll nakas. The opposition MLAs brought the machines for demonstration. MLA Eknath Shinde said that if officials do not implement the decisions taken in the District Planning Committee meetings then what is the use of such meetings? On this all the opposition MLAs stood in protest and raised slogans.
