The city saw Guru Granth celebrations by the Sikh community at Chembur where former DGP P S Pasricha was also present. Every year, in late October or early November, the Sikh Panth, all over the world has been celebrating Guru Gaddi Divas or Day of Coronation of Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji – the ‘Guru Eternal’ of the Sikhs. The year of 2008, happens to be special one for the Sikhs as it marks the 300th anniversary of proclamation of Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji as their only perpetual and Eternal Guru. Since November of last year, special programs and functions were held under the theme of ‘300 Saal Guru De Naal,’ and a grand ceremony was held recently.
