Six arrested by Kharghar Police in land grab case of 51 plots

The Kharghar police has arrested a total of six accused in a land grab case. The arrest was made after complainant Nisar Patel had lodged a complaint at the Kharghar Police station for using fake documents to take over his ancestral land.

On 20th October last year, Nisar Patel, a resident of Ovagaon had filed a complaint at the Kharghar Police station against 6 persons for using fake documents to take over his ancestral land. In his complaint, Nisar Patel said that the 6 accused had made several fake documents to take over his land which constituted of 51 plots. According to Nisar Patel, his father’s name was Abdul Rahim Patel and the accused had allegedly changed his name to Abdul Rahaman and made the fake documents. Nisar informed that he got all the information from the gram panchayat.

After the complaint, the Kharghar police started investigations had found that fake death certificate and affidavit were made from the Panvel Tehdilsar Office and at CIDCO, which were used for illegally taking the land. The Kharghar police station has arrested 6 persons in the case informed the Senior Police Inspector at Kharghar police station Kiran Patil.

The police has sent a notice to the Panvel Tehsildar office to gain a copy of the certificate given by this department. The police is yet to communicate with the CIDCO office. With cameraperson Vinayak Dalvi, Monika Bhosale for NMTV News.
