The Thane Municipal Corporation’s civic hospital at Kalwa will soon have an air conditioning system that will run on solar energy. The project will save over a Crore of public funds over a period of 10 years. Its’ TMC mission to do their bit for “Global Warming” – the municipal corporation of Thane city is planning to run the Air Conditioning System in their hospital at Kalwa on solar energy. Based on the system of carbon credit, the solar energy will be tapped to save over a Crore of public funds if the project runs successfully for ten years. The plan includes running an Air Conditioning System of 120 tons on solar energy with technical inputs from IIT Mumbai. The TMC will be one of the first government offices to float a Carbon Credit Project. If the project meets success, the TMC will replicate the project in other departments.
