State to appeal in Supreme Court against Salman Khan verdict


The Maharashtra government has decided to file a special leave petition in the Supreme Court. The petition will challenge the Bombay high court verdict acquitting actor Salman Khan in the 2002 fatal accident case.

For filing the petition, the government has 90 days’ time. The petition is reportedly to point out the fact that the sessions court had admitted the statement of late police constable Ravindra Patil which was set aside while the HC verdict was given.
