The winter session of the State Legislative Assembly to be held in Nagpur is likely to be postponed. A proposal to delay the winter state assembly session, which is to begin on November 17, was mooted during the meeting of the Business Advisory Committee. Once the state cabinet gives its consent for postponing the session, the proposal will be sent to the governor for his approval. In view of the upcoming elections in Rajasthan, Jammu & Kashmir, Delhi and few other states, the BJP party had suggested that the winter sessions be pushed back as the political parties will be travelling across the country for canvassing. The new date of the session will be announced only after the governor’s approval. However sources in the Mantralaya said the three week winter session is likely to be held from December 1.
