Tipu Sultan who was the King of Mysore, India’s freedom fighter who died while fighting for his country and his people was also known as the Tiger of Mysore. Tipu Sultan had adorned his arms, armors and objects with images of tiger or of its stripes as he use to consider tiger as his personal motif. Robin Wigington had undertaken the research of the King and for the past thirty years had been studying about the King and collecting his sets of arms and armors. His collection includes Tipu Sultan’s sabres, gem-set trophy swords, embroidered arrow quivers, exquisite quilted helmets, blunderbusses, fowling pieces, sporting guns pistols and a three pounder canon.
