In his recent visit to the satellite city, Tripura Governor Dr. D.Y. Patil has announced that he will draw Re 1 as his monthly salary instead of his allocated salary of Rs 1.1 lakh. Dr. D Y Patil, an educationist who has put Navi Mumbai on the global map with his immense contribution in the filed of education was felicitated during his visit, reports Pranesh Kumar Roy. A ground felicitation ceremony was organized to honour the first citizen of Tripura. The dignitaries for the function included the speaker of Maharashtra legislative assembly, Dilip Walse Patil, Minister for water supply Laxman Dhoble, MLA Sitaram Ghandat. Also in attendance were NMMC commissioner Vijay Nahata, Commissioner of Police Gulabrao Pol, Deputy Mayor Shashikant Birajdar, MLC Manda Mhatre. Dr. Dy Patil was accompanied by his two sons; Vijay Patil and Dr Ajinkya Patil. The chief guest for the function Former Justice of Mumbai High court, Chandrashekar Dharmadhikari, handed over a citation to Dr DY Patil. Dr. D Y Patil, who hails from the Maharashtra, took oath as the governor of Tripura on November 27. During his visit in the city, Dr. D Y Patil announced that he will draw Re 1 as his monthly salary instead of the allocated salary of Rs 1.1 lakh.
