Twitter in battle with the government over restrictions on public disclosures on request or on demand, US

Big technology companies have been facing this problem from a very long time, the government requesting user data of those whom they might find a threat and then how much can these companies publicly disclose to their users about these government requests. And now it seems that Twitter is standing firm against the government as it has even filed a lawsuit against the US government. According to this lawsuit Twitter is in an attempt to seek relief to ease restrictions on public disclosures as how many requests the company receives from the government agencies for the user data.
‘We have tried to achieve the level of transparency our users deserves without litigation, but to no avail. It is our belief that we are entitled under the First Amendment to respond to our users concerns and to the statements of US government officials by providing information about the scope of US government surveillance’ as stated by Ben Lee, vice President for legal matters in a company blog post.
