Uddhav Thackeray may replace Cabinet ministers with new faces

The Shiv Sena chief Uddhav Thackeray may replace four Cabinet ministers with new faces in the next Cabinet shuffle. Thackeray has called a meeting of ministers and all legislators of his party on Thursday at 6 pm at Matoshree, at his residence in Bandra.

According to a party insider, Thackeray is not happy with the performance of few of the senior ministers like Subhash Desai (Goregaon), Dr Deepak Sawant (Vile Parle), Ramdas Kadam (Borivali) among others. In the recent Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) elections the Sena lost all the BMC seats in the assembly segments of these Sena ministers. Sources further stated that the decision to reshuffle the Sena ministers will depend upon the nod from Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis.

Sources said that Subhash Desai (minister for industries), Diwakar Raote (minister for state transport), Ramdas Kadam (minister for environment) and Dr Deepak Sawant (minister for public health) will ask to tender their resignation in a meeting. All these are member of Upper House.

According to source, Anil Parab, member of Upper House will replace Desai. Sunil Prabhu, former mayor of Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation and sitting member of Assembly, Rajan Salvi and Pratap Chikhalikar are another claimant to be indicated into state cabinet.
