Ukrainian President Petro O. Poroshenko is ready to make new agreements and new responsibilities, trying to put the worse in the past. Poroshenko has expressed the desire of Ukraine to be a poart of European Union now. While speaking at a news conference in Kiev, he said that its high time that his country should aggressively pursue closer ties with the European Union and that he would lead efforts to fight corruption and improve the economy.
Poroshenko also added that he along with other officials including Prime Minister Arsenity P. Yatsenyuk are going to work through the 2010 law that had barred Ukraine from membership in any military and political alliance.
‘Yes, we cast away the tyranny, confirmed our European choice and survived the fight with the external enemy. But the internal challenge is even more important. Corruption, poverty and economic weaknesses are our biggest threats and the main weapons of aour attackers. And we have the full ruight to knock on this door (EU) as it would require drastic economic and political reforms’ as stated by Poroshenko at the news conference.
