United Nations have done something that they should have done long time back. The UN General Assembly has approved a treaty, according to which from now on, they are going to control and supervise the international arms trade with certain rules and regulations. After imposing new rules and restrictions the UN are looking ahead to curb crimes that occurs when dangerous weapons reach into the hands of wrong people, which causes damage to innocent people and societies.
The treaty covers almost every country, where UN would be able to keep a watch on arms activities. This treaty includes almost every ammunitions, weapons, missiles even smaller and lighter weapons. The treaty was approved after a vote of 154 to 3. The three countries which had objections to such rules and regulations were Iran, Syria and North Korea, while there were 23 who restrained themselves from this vote.
