US to send 1500 American troops to train Iraqi army

An official statement released by the Pentagon informed that the US government will send 1500 more American troops to train and advise the Iraqi army. The troops will be sent to Iraq to play a non-combat role. The same was approved by US President Barack Obama after receiving a request from the Iraq government. The statement further informed that the troops will set up camp on various sites for the training.

The US military would also be setting up two “advise and assist operations centres” outside Baghdad and the northern city of Irbil, the statement added. Bureau report – NMTV News.
