15th September is Thane Guardian Minister Ganesh Naik’s birthday. While every year, several birthday hoardings and a grand gathering is held at bavkaleshwar temple, this year the minister has decided to celebrate his birthday in a unique and innovative style, that is by organizing social events that will benefit the citizens of the city.
Looks like, this year, the birthday celebrations of Thane Guardian Minister Ganesh Naik would not just be limited to celebrations by his party workers and closed relatives, but by the entire city. In a unique and innovative style, Thane Guardian Minister Ganesh Naik has urged his corporators and party workers to hold social events to observe his birthday that will benefit the citizens of Navi Mumbai, rather than wasting money on birthday hoardings. Since the 8th of September, several health and educational benefit camps have been held which has seen a huge participation of citizens who are taking advantage of these camps. Several camps are conducted in the city both in Airoli and Belapur constituency. In ward no 53 Vashi too, corporator Vaibhav Gaikwad observed the birthday celebrations of the minister by distributing first aid kits in each society and apartments in his ward which was commenced by the minister himself. On this day, a foot bridge going towards the Sacred Heart Church in the ward was also inaugurated by the minister.
A “New Senior Citizen Welfare Association” has also been formed in the ward. The registration for this association was distributed at the hands of Thane Guardian Minister Ganesh Naik. In his addressal, Thane Guardian Minister Ganesh Naik said that this year he has decided to donate one ambulance in every ten wards.
Bringing smiles to even the Agri-Koli community, the minister said that he had ordered 750 life jackets specially from Dubai for the fishermen, in wake of the losses faced by them due to a recent cyclone. For aspiring cricket players, he said that in every ward, a cricket kit would be distributed. Speaking on conserving the environment, he said that in every ward he has urged his corporators to plant trees. The birthday celebrations also benefitted the Mathadi community as the AnnaSaheb Patil Mathadi Workers Credit Society which has been recently renovated was inaugurated at the hands of Thane Guardian Minister Ganesh Naik.
Speaking to the media, Thane Guardian Minister Ganesh Naik said that the credit society will definitely benefit the Mathadi workers financially. Speaking on his decision to not celebrating his birthday with hoardings and banners but with social events, he said that he appealed to all to keep the villages as well as the city healthy and clean. At Airoli, a free health check up, blood donation and free spectacles distribution camp was held in ward no 10.
At ward no 40, Pawne village, senior citizens and meritorious students of the ward were felicitated. Present during this camp, Airoli MLA Sandeep Naik appreciated the efforts of the corporators and party workers to hold these social events. Even residents appreciated the innovative idea of Thane Guardian Minister Ganesh Naik for holding these camps for the citizens.
