Vijay Nahata Gives Shiv Sena In Navi Mumbai New Lease Of Life

When Ganesh Naik exited from Shiv Sena, his were a large shoes to fill. Evidently, Shiv Sena became the weakest party in Navi Mumbai without an identity or connect with voter. Enter Vijay Nahata and Shiv Sena got a new lease of life.

One of Navi Mumbai’s most dynamic Commissioners of Navi Mumbai, Vijay Nahata as a Shiv Sena leader needed no introduction to the city and its people. On the contrary, from the day he joined Shiv Sena, the party’s image got a makeover : as a clean party committed to work for people.

An ex IAS officer, Vijay Nahata’s leadership immediately resonated with the youth, women and educated people in Navi Mumbai. As a politician he never followed a mob style politics. Before Vijay Nahata, Vijay Chougule was handling Shiv Sena as the district’s city chief. However, since he took over the post of opposition leader in NMMC, there was no Shiv Sena Zillah Pramukh. Until now, when Vithal More and Dwarkanath Bhoir were appointed as zillah pramukh for Belapur and Airoli.

The fact that Shiv Sena has two zillah pramukhs and 11 dy. zillah pramukhs will ensure that more teams, more party workers and more people work for the party in Navi Mumbai and not for individual selves. Reiterating the reason for choosing them, Vijay Nahata told NMTV that this was in line with their party chief Uddhav Thackeray’s vision of creating an army for party workers.

The decision is being seen as a crucial move. More so as the last big debacle to Shiv Sena in Navi Mumbai happened when Vijay Chougules’ back out from contesting Mayoral elections at the last moment. This made the way for NCP to win Mayor elections easy and caused the Shiv Sena party major embarrassment. This forced the party high commands to give Vijay Nahata the upper hand in Navi Mumbai. For an ex Commissioner, Vijay Nahata knows Navi Mumbai, the city, its corporators, its people and every nook and corner of the city.

This has given Shiv Sena a new identity and a face-lift like never before. With elections season round the corner, Vijay Nahata has put Shiv Sena in a position of advantage in Navi Mumbai. Bureau report – NMTV News.
