18-year-old rising Indian shuttler Gadde Ruthvika Shivani used her height to advantage to breeze past Nangsal Tamang 21-6 21-2 in 15 minutes to make it 2-0 for the hosts.
India soon completed the formality when Sindhu partnered Ashwini Ponnappa to get the better of Sara-Nangsal 21-10 21-8 in 25 minutes.
Meanwhile in men’s event, India beat Afghanistan 3-0 with Ajay Jayram, HS Prannoy, Akshay Dewalkar and Pranay Chopra securing another facile victory as they topped Group A with three wins.
Starting the proceedings, Jayram swept aside Sayid Mohammad Kabir Mirzad 21-4 21-4 in 25 minutes, and Prannoy was five minutes quicker in downing Ahmed Fahim Yari 21-8 21-11 for a 2-0 overall lead.
The doubles duo of Dewalkar and Chopra sealed the issue against Fahim-Imran with a 21-9 21-9 win in 25 minutes.
