In a rather shocking incident, a youth identified as Maqsood a resident of Anand Parbat of Delhi, was killed by a white tiger after he accidentally fell inside the animal’s moat.
According to the eyewitnesses and cameras, Maqsood was leaning against the moat which had separated the tiger’s enclosure from the visitor’s gallery when all of a sudden he accidentally tumbled inside the moat. As soon as he regained his position he was staring in the eyes of the white tiger itself. From what can be seen in the cameras, the youth for fifteen minutes was staring and pleading to the tiger, who itself was staring at Maqsood for almost 15 minutes. But suddenly when the guards and onlookers tried to distract the tiger by waving sticks and pelting stones, the tiger turned violent, and within minutes tore the youth apart.
What’s more shocking was that the youth and the tiger were silently watching each other for fifteen minutes! Fifteen minutes was an awful lot of time that the securities of the zoo could have taken some action and could have saved the youth from the tiger. The father of the deceased is now demanding justice and wants strict action against the security as like everyone; even he felt that his son could have been saved if swift action had been taken.
